POLSON — A fire in the early morning hours of Monday, Jan. 6, destroyed part of a building and the contents of several storage units at A&T Storage on North Reservoir Road.
According to Polson Rural Fire Chief Gordon Gieser, a driver passing by called to report the fire at 3:01 a.m. When he arrived at 3:06 a.m., storage units 33, 34 and 35 were “well-involved.” He said the fire, which he estimates affected the contents of 18 or so units, was under control at about 5 a.m.
Due to where most of the structural damage to the building occurred, Geiser said he believes the fire started toward the front of unit 33 or 34.
Geiser has asked the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office for help investigating the cause of the fire.
