Ralph Bays

RONAN — Ralph Bays, father, son, brother, and friend, passed on surrounded by his boys, family and friends on Aug. 18, 2012. He fought a short but valiant battle with cancer. He never complained or asked, “Why me?” His concern was for his boys, Michael and James, who still live at home.
Ralph was born, raised and graduated from high school in Ronan. He married Teresa Gohl in 1986 and they later divorced in 1994.
Ralph loved the stockcar track. He drove in the 1980s and enjoyed drag racing and Nascar. He was Ronan’s repairman. He could fix anything and did.
Ralph won’t be remembered for his wealth or assets, but he will always be remembered as a kind, gentle, caring man who would help anyone and for how he truly loved his children.
His parents Ed and Lavanna, his brother Albert, his sister Florence, his daughter Fonteilla and his sons Patrick, Michael and James survive him. With a nod and a wave, we’ll catch you later, Ralph.
A potluck and celebration of Ralph’s life will take place at noon Saturday, Aug. 25, at the south end of Ronan City Park, under the gazebo.
