Danny Vance

HOT SPRINGS — Danny Vance passed away on July 15, 2020, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center at the age of 71.

He was born in Polson to Harold and Vivian Vance and grew up in the peaceful Ronan countryside.

After graduating from high school, he attended a semester of college at MSU, Bozeman, before being inducted into the Army in 1968 and fulfilling his service in Germany.

After his service, he tried his hand at several jobs; the main one was as a carpenter. He loved that line of work; his specialty was building beautiful and sturdy cabinets, some of which are still in service at the St. Luke Nursing Home where he was a resident for the last nine months. Briefly, he had a small exotic fish/aquarium shop, worked at the USPS and St. Luke Community Healthcare, all in Ronan. He also had a tree/shrub nursery in St. Ignatius. His last years were spent in Hot Springs, before moving to the nursing home in Ronan.

He enjoyed building little model houses, leather tooling, wood burning and repainting old vehicles in his spare time.

He is survived by his mom, Vivian Vance, also a resident at the St. Luke Nursing Home, where they got to enjoy each other’s company every day; two daughters, Cara Vance of Rexford, and Heidi Wasia of Salt Lake City, Utah; one son, Jesse Vance of Eagle River, Alaska; two sisters, Barb (Bill) Foust of Ronan and Darlene (Don) Wells of Hope, Idaho; three grandchildren; two aunts and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Harold Vance; seven uncles; and five aunts.

No service is planned at this time. Messages of condolences can be shared with the family online at www.shriderthompson.com. Arrangements are under the care of Shrider-Thompson Funeral Home.
