RONAN — Well, here we are, at the end of summer and the starting of a new school year. Please drive carefully, as the kids don’t always watch where they are going.
The days are already growing shorter and there is a feeling of fall in the air. I don’t like the cold weather, but a little cooler weather would be nice.
We have elected new officers and board members for the year: Betty Corum is president, Martha Allen is first vice president, Helen Salomon is second vice president, Jan Schmitz is secretary, Auggie Peterson is treasurer; board members are: Janet Drake, Ann Koberg, Al Sampson, Kay Schnase and alternate board members are: Bernadine Anderson, Mark Maarstad and Lorraine Walston.
Thank you to these people for their willingness to serve here at the center.
A special thanks goes to Al Sampson for serving as our president for the past several years. We appreciate all of his years of service.
Don’t forget that Friday, Aug. 31 is our birthday dinner. It is also the last day our cook Kelcey Walker will be with us. So, come in and tell her good bye and have a great meal with us.

• Wednesday, Aug. 22: tater tot casserole
• Friday, Aug. 24: 4 varieties of pizza
• Monday, Aug. 27: meat loaf and scalloped potatoes
• Wednesday, Aug. 29: chicken rice casserole
• Friday, Aug. 31: roast beef
