A Clinton man is accused of possessing methamphetamine after he was alleged to be shoplifting at Walmart in Polson. Zachary Taylor Remmers, 30, entered a plea of not guilty in District Court at Polson on Dec. 3 to felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs.

According to court records, on July 18, Polson law enforcement responded to a report that a man stole items from Walmart and fled in a black truck with no license plates. The responding officer located the suspect’s vehicle and made a traffic stop. Remmers was identified as the driver.

Remmers admitted to shoplifting and consented to a search of his vehicle. The officer located a pipe with meth residue and a small baggie of meth in a sunglass case. Remmers admitted the meth was his.

Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher set the case for trial on May 10. Remmers is at liberty on his own recognizance.
