Neil Miskimins

BIGFORK — Neil passed away on Dec. 28, 2020, in Bigfork.

Born January 26, 1949, in Portland, Oregon, the only child of Dean and Dorothy Miskimins. He attended Central Catholic High School and the University of Portland. Neil met his wife, Christine Clifford, and they married in 1970 at St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Portland. Marrying Christine came with a bonus: 10 brother and sisters-in-law. Neil often said they were the brothers and sisters he never had. Neil and Christine had six children. A loving father, remembered for his many kind letters to his children and teaching them to always be on the lookout for a deal.

Neil served in the Oregon Air National Guard, was a career salesman in the Portland Metro area and later an employee of St. John Fisher. A man of strong faith, he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Communion Service leader for several years. Upon his retirement, Neil and Christine relocated to the beautiful Flathead Lake region. He became involved at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Polson. Neil was known to all who encountered him as one of the kindest and most thoughtful people they ever met.

Neil is survived by his wife Christine of Polson; his children, Patrick, Sean, Caroline (Iggulden), Laurie, Elizabeth (Ramdass), Brian and their partners; 12 grandchildren; and many cousins; in-laws; and nieces and nephews.

Neil will be laid to rest in Oregon the summer of 2021 in conjunction with a service.

Offerings in Neil Miskimins’ name can be made to Central Catholic High School, 2401 SE Stark Street, Portland, Oregon, 97214, or to St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4567 SW Nevada St, Portland, Oregon, 97219.
