PHILIPSBURG – The Charlo Vikings football team’s offense continues to play well as they won big on the road in Philipsburg Friday, 56-16. Jacen Peterson led Charlo with three rushing touchdowns and one receiving score. The Viking offensive line helped a trio of Charlo players bring in touchdowns.

“Our offensive line had another big day,” head coach Mike Krahn said. “They helped our team average 12 yards per carry.”

Tra Ludeman ran the ball three times for 88 yards and one touchdown, and completed eight of 10 passes for 145 yards and two additional scores.

“Tra Ludeman was very efficient at quarterback, with only two incompletions on 10 attempts,” Krahn said.

Petersen finished the game with seven carries for 90 yards, and caught four passes for 56 yards. Charlo’s offense racked up 23 carries for 283 yards and five touchdowns. The Vikings continue to be a force on defense, holding the Prospectors to a season-low 16 points.

Ludeman completed eight tackles on defense, while Webb O’Neill added six. Nose guard Peter DuMont created havoc for Philipsburg’s offense.

“Peter DuMont was a dominating force at nose guard,” Krahn said.

On Friday, the Vikings host Noxon at home.

Krahn says Charlo needs to continue working on their aggressiveness on defense and polishing their offense.

“Noxon has good team size and will bring a power running game,” Krahn said.
