News from the UCC

LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County-CSKT Unified Command Center will be hosting two COVID-19 vaccine events open to all Lake County and Flathead Reservation residents who must be 16 or older to receive the shot. Minors must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian.

The events run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 10 and April 17 in the Salish Kootenai College Joe McDonald Gymnasium in Pablo. Appointments are required. Walk ups will not be accepted.

There are two ways to sign up for an appointment: fill out the form at www.mtreadyclinic.org, or call 406-745-3525 to schedule an appointment. The Pfizer vaccine administered at these events requires a second shot three weeks later to be fully protected.

The UCC is working with Lake County Public Health, Tribal Health and area medical centers through the Lake County COVID-19 Health Task Force. The UCC urges every resident to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

The shots are safe and effective. Millions of people in the United States have received COVID-19 vaccines under the most intense safety monitoring in U.S. history. The CDC also recommends getting a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as you are eligible. As of April 1, every Montanan age 16 and older is eligible.
