POLSON — Playing on their home court, the Polson Lady Pirates tennis team won the divisional team title during the Western A divisional tennis tournament on Friday. The Lady Pirates won with 55 points and out paced Whitefish who scored 46 points, followed by Libby with 23.
Polson’s doubles team of Berkeley Ellis and Qia Harlan won the girls’ doubles championship defeating teammates Taylor Collinge and Clara Todd in two sets 6-2, 6-0. Lady Pirates doubles team of Ara Mercer and Megan Rost picked up a third-place win with a three-set 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 win over their Whitefish opponents.
For the Pirates, doubles team of Torrin Ellis and Michael Smith battled Whitefish’s Highland Lee-French and Aaron Dicks in a three-set match 0-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 for the boys’ doubles divisional title.
