An Idaho woman is facing extradition back to Idaho after leading law enforcement in Lake County on a high-speed pursuit through the Arlee area.

Ima Adele Evans, 35, entered a plea of not guilty at District Court in Polson on May 20 to felony criminal endangerment and misdemeanor fleeing from or eluding a peace officer.

According to court records, on May 1, a Flathead Tribal Police officer was on a routine patrol in the Arlee area when he observed a green Cadillac traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 93 with no license plate.

The officer conducted a traffic stop on the Cadillac at the parking lot of a grocery store. The male passenger in the Cadillac started walking away from the vehicle, and the officer instructed him to stop. As the officer was interacting with him, the driver of the Cadillac, later identified as Evans, left in her vehicle.

The officer had to leave the male in handcuffs at the parking lot to pursue the Cadillac. The Cadillac drove near schools and housing areas, putting the lives of people in those areas in danger. The Cadillac eventually stopped on Jocko Road, and Evans was placed under arrest.

Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher set a jury trial date for Jan. 10. Evans remains in the Lake County jail with bail set at $25,000. She is wanted in Idaho on a $50,000 warrant.
