A Polson man has four separate drug cases pending in Lake County. Matthew George Manyhides, 33, entered a plea of not guilty at District Court in Polson on July 7 to four separate felony counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs. He also entered a plea of not guilty to misdemeanor charges of driving with a revoked or suspended license and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to court records, on April 1, Polson police were dispatched to a report of a possible drug sale taking place from a gray Chrysler in the Polson Walmart parking lot. As officers arrived, the Chrysler started driving away and a traffic stop was made.

Manyhides was a passenger in the Chrysler. He was found to have “two large wads of cash” in his pockets, to which, Manyhides explained was his stimulus money. Officers also located heroin in the vehicle and items used to consume heroin.

Manyhides was the subject of another traffic stop on April 3. A search of the vehicle he was driving turned up methamphetamine. In another traffic stop, on April 9, officers found heroin and items to ingest heroin. Manyhides was spotted driving again on June 17, and the officer who observed Manyhides knew his driving privileges were revoked, so a traffic stop was conducted. A search of the vehicle Manyhides was driving turned up 30 blue pills that contained fentanyl.

Judge James Manley set a trial date of Jan. 3. Manyhides remains in the Lake County jail with bail totaling $200,000, according to the jail roster.
