A Polson man was sentenced at District Court in Polson on Aug. 11 to 10 years under the supervision of the director of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services after being convicted of aggravated assault.

Harley Gene Press, 26, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in District Court on Nov. 25, 2020.

Press was accused, according to charging documents, of attacking a 76-year-old woman while she was in her wheelchair at a group home in Polson on Jan. 5, 2020.

Press made his appearance for the sentencing hearing via the Zoom platform from the Montana State hospital in Warm Springs. Judge James Manley gave Press credit for 584 days jail time already served.
