BUTTE - The basketball season came to an end for the Scarlets this weekend as Arlee suffered a pair of lopsided losses at the Western C Divisional Tournament.

After finishing second at the District 14-C tournament last weekend, and surviving a challenge game Monday, the Scarlets had a rough time of it in Butte as they fell by more than 30 points in both of their matchups at divisionals.

The Scarlets fell behind early against Twin Bridges Friday and never recovered as Arlee fell in the loser-out contest, 64-28.

The Falcons opened the game with a 20-6 run and only added to their lead from there as Twin Bridges cruised to a 36-point victory. Twin Bridges won the scoring battle in all four quarters on the way to the win.

Kristyn Adams scored nine points to lead Arlee in the loss while Mahalia Hendren added seven, Tiffany O'Neill and Becca Nelson each scored four, Karleigh Bolin added two points and Whitney Malatare and Jenna Pablo each scored one.

Twin Bridges was led by Payton Ferris with 17 points in the victory while Cate Hirschy added 12.

Arlee opened the tournament with another loss Wednesday as the Scarlets fell to Harrison, 70-32.

The Wildcats doubled up the Scarlets in the opening quarter, jumping out to a 20-10 lead after eight minutes of play. The second quarter was much the same story as Harrison used a 22-10 run to build a 44-20 halftime advantage.

Harrison widened the gap even further in the third quarter, using a 22-4 run to go up 64-24 heading into the fourth quarter.

Adams again led the Scarlets in the loss with 11 points while Hendren added seven, O'Neill, Nelson and Malatare each scored four and Pablo, Skyla Perry and Tayla Desjardais each added two points.

The Scarlets finish the season 7-14.
