The fourth-ranked Vikings continued to dominate district competition Thursday as Charlo cruised past visiting St. Regis, 69-30.

Strong defense and hot shooting helped the Vikings jump out to a commanding 27-12 opening-quarter lead, led by Chance Rosenbaum's 12 points in the frame.

Charlo cooled off somewhat in the second quarter, scoring just 16 points to build a 43-19 halftime advantage.

The Vikings continued to widen the lead in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 26-11 to pick up a 39-point win.

Rosenbaum led the Vikings with 23 points while Dillon Delaney, Chico Stipe and Tra Ludeman all added eight points each.

With the win, the Vikings improve to 4-0 in district play and 7-1 overall while
St. Regis falls to 0-7 with the loss.

The tenth-ranked Lady Vikings picked up a pair of wins this week as they downed both St. Regis and Phillipsburg.

The Lady Vikings had two players outscore St. Regis by themselves Thursday as Kinley Pope scored 15 and Rachel Hoyt added 11 in a 44-9 victory.

St. Regis was unable to score more than four points in a single quarter in the contest as Charlo cruised to the win. Along with the double-digit performances from Pope and Hoyt, Dawn Blevins, Deondra Brown and Kelsie Blevins added four points each. Jordan Ludeman added three points, Aspen Runkel had two and Trinda Foust scored one.

The Lady Vikings followed up Thursday's win with non-district victory on the road at Phillipsburg Saturday.

Charlo opened the game with a 12-0 run in the opening quarter and never looked back on the way to a 44-27 victory. Pope again led the way with 13 points and Hoyt again added 11. Ludeman was also in double figures with 10 points in the win.

With the victories, the Lady Vikings improve to 4-0 in district and 8-1 overall.

The season continues for both teams Tuesday as the Vikings play at Plains while the Lady Vikings play at home. Both teams are on the road Saturday at Noxon.
