News from the Montana Hospital Association

HELENA — The Montana Hospital Association is pleased to announce St. Luke Community Healthcare as the winner of the association’s 2021 Best Place to Work Award for small hospitals in the state.

The Best Place to Work Award is designed to honor both small and large hospitals as well as non-hospital healthcare organizations that go the extra mile in enhancing employee satisfaction through basic or creative retention strategies. Nominations effectively described improvements that have been made to the work environment, retention efforts currently in place, and how employee work satisfaction has benefited from these improvements. Judging was based on the following criteria:

—  Creativity, scope, and implementation of the retention strategy

—  Verifiable outcomes in employee retention

—  Demonstrated effectiveness in raising employee morale through a hospital morale tracking system

—  Potential for applicability in other healthcare organizations

—  Employee references of improved work environment

“St. Luke is a leader in enhancing employee satisfaction and has a demonstrated track record of working toward improving morale for its team,” said Rich Rasmussen, Montana Hospital Association CEO. “We are pleased to honor St. Luke with our 2021 Best Place to Work Award for all of their work to go above and beyond to attract and keep top healthcare talent in their community. The past eighteen months have demonstrated the importance of supporting our healthcare workforce.”

“What an honor to have this recognition from the Montana Hospital Association, especially given the great hospitals across this state,” said St. Luke CEO, Steve Todd. “Our employees are our greatest resource. It’s the work our employees do each and every day that has consistently kept St. Luke Community Healthcare as one of the leading critical access hospitals in the state and in the nation. Health care is tough work, and we have a tough team. The way we see it, is if we do a great job taking care of our employees, they’ll do a great job taking care of our community.”
