POLSON — We are located at 504 Third Ave. E, and open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Lunch is available from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays for $5. Dine-in, take-out, and delivery to a shut- in are available. Individuals and small groups are always welcome to lounge, work puzzles, read, play card or board games, billiards, etc. Our activities are a great way to meet old friends and create new friendships. Activities:

—  Exercise for mobility: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 10:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. (low impact or seated if desired).                                                                      

—  Bridge: Tuesdays and Fridays: postponed - Call the center or come in to place your name on the players list. 

—  Mahjong: Wednesdays, 12:30 p.m. (multiple tables)

—  Pinochle: Thursdays, 12:30 p.m. We play 3, 4, or 5 hands per table.  Coaching available.

—  Bingo: Fridays, 7 p.m.

—  Pool: We need expertise in repair of some well used cue sticks. Also, if you have some gently used cue sticks, or cue tip repair kits, we could use them. Practice for weekly free open pool tournaments - 50 plus (younger if supervised by a parent)  Play will be at 3 p.m. on Thursdays, or any other time or day preferred by players. Pool is free with no entry fee.  The rules are to play nice and insure fun for everyone. Call the center or come on down and practice with a friend. Organized weekly pool games are set to begin the week of Jan. 6. Practice pool from 8- 11:30 a.m. and from 12:30-3 p.m. on most week days.

This year is the 50th anniversary (1972-2022) of our Polson Senior Center. We are looking forward to a great celebration. If you have stories or pictures to share from previous years, let us know. Our historian and directors are beginning to compile a display.    

Menu:

—  Wednesday, Jan. 12: sweet and sour pork, rice, mixed vegetables, spinach salad, pistachio pudding

—  Thursday, Jan. 13: Shepherd’s pie, roll, apple sauce, Watergate salad, cobbler

—  Friday, Jan. 14: chicken salad sandwich, potato wedges, coleslaw/apples, pineapples, lemon pudding

—  Monday, Jan. 17: chicken noodle soup, PB&J sandwich, pear/cheese salad, cookie  

—  Tuesday, Jan. 18: Salisbury steak, potatoes, gravy, corn, veggie/Jell-O salad, coffee cake

—  Wednesday, Jan. 19: pulled pork barbecue sandwich, tots, baked beans, creamy fruit salad, apple pie

—  Thursday, Jan. 20: meatloaf, baked potato, green beans, green salad, tapioca pudding

Other events:

Hearing clinic — every third Thursday (Jan. 20) from 10 a.m.-noon 

Veterans’ representative — every first Friday (Jan. 7) and third Tuesday (Jan. 18) from 10 a.m.-noon

The Polson Senior Center will host  a licensed (DPM) podiatrist giving free visual exams of your toes and feet. Any work on nails, calluses, corns, etc. will require an additional fee(s) starting at $25. The clinic will be held on Friday, Jan. 14, from 10 a.m.-noon. Call 406-257-8686 for more information.
