3 dead after head-on crash

RAVALLI — Three people died on Saturday when a northbound 2005 Hyundai drifted into the southbound lane and crashed head-on with a Pontiac. The driver of the Hyandai was 19-year-old Trevor Olson of Missoula. Olson was killed along with his passenger, his 14-year-old cousin Tanner Olson of Missoula. The 22-year-old male from Arlee was driving the Pontiac. He was injured but his 21-year-old female passenger from St. Ignatius was killed. A 4-year-old and an infant inside the Pontiac were also injured. The injured were transported to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. According to Montana Highway Patrol none of the people involved were wearing seatbelts and speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors. The crash is still under investigation. The crash occurred ay 8:58 p.m. at mile marker 23 and traffic in both the north and southbound lanes of Highway 93 were backed up for hours following the crash.
