LINCOLN – In a game that went back and fourth throughout it’s entirety, the Lincoln Lynx forced three turnovers in the fourth quarter to pull ahead at the end, winning in a high-scoring match against the Charlo Vikings (1-2), 50-36. Tra Ludeman led the Vikings on offense, carrying the ball 10 times for 55 yards and a touchdown. The multi-talented athlete also completed 14 of 26 passes for 153 yards and three touchdowns.

At the half, Charlo had rallied to come within two points of the Lynx, 18-16. Late in the third quarter, both teams continued to find the end zone, with Lincoln still holding onto a two-run lead, 32-30. Crucial turnovers in the fourth allowed Lincoln to pull ahead for the victory.

Jacen Petersen ran the ball 11 times for 101 yards, and a touchdown, while Kolten Andrews carried the ball 10 attempts for 42 yards.

On defense, Webb O’Neill had 10 tackles and one interception.

Head Coach Mike Krahn says he’s pleased with the effort his team put out on the field, but added they need to polish up their fundamentals and minimize mistakes if they plan on making a playoff run this season.

“Once again I was extremely pleased with our effort and how physical we played the game,” Krahn said.

Next week Charlo travels to Darby, which will be a showdown of two teams that need a win to keep in the playoff hunt.

“Both teams have one win and two losses,” Krahn said. “Both teams are in a must win situation to keep playoff hopes alive.”

Krahn says his team will prepare for the big game by concentrating on fundamentals.
