RONAN — Here we are, not even through the month of September, and Christmas stuff is already showing up in the stores. It would be nice if they at least waited until after Halloween.

We had 47 people join us for a chicken dinner last Thursday. If you weren’t there, you missed a great meal.

Senior commodities are here this week. If you haven’t picked yours up yet, please do so as soon as possible, or call the COA (406) 676-2367) to make arrangements to do so.

The foot clinic was supposed to be this Wednesday, but we have had to cancel it for this month, and possibly next month too. The nurse fell and broke her hip, and so far, we don’t have a replacement.

The COA will be having its fall dinner dance in late October or early November. They will also be having a silent auction, and I you have anything to donate to it, give them a call at (406) 676-2367.

If you have some time on your hands, the Council on Aging is in need of volunteer drivers for the med cars, especially in the St. Ignatius and Polson areas. This is a service offered to the seniors so they can get to their medical appointments and to do their shopping.

Menu for the rest of September:

• Wednesday, Sept.19: chicken and dressing casserole

• Friday, Sept.21: liver and onions

• Mon. 24: barbeque meatballs

• Wednesday, 26: breakfast taco and quiche (if I can figure out how to make it) and

• Friday, 28: roast beef for our birthday dinner

Friday, Sept. 28, is also the day we will have a free dinner and a movie at noon. This is a program put on by the state to help people to be aware of fraud, and ways to avoid it. If you would like to attend this, you must call us at (406) 676-2371, by Wednesday, Sept. 26.

Have a great week, and enjoy the nice weather and the clear skies.
