Three fires currently are burning on the Flathead Reservation, according to Devlin LaFrombois at the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Division of Fire.

On the south fork of the Jocko River, the Whitehorse Lake fire is the largest of the three and had burned 230 acres as of Sept. 15.

Mollman fire is located east of Mollman Trail in the Mission Mountains, and the 66-acre Schley fire is near Evaro.

All three fires were caused by lighting about 10 days ago, LaFrombois said, and are unmanned since they are in such remote areas, dangerous for firefighters. No homes or structures are threatened, and the Division of Fire is monitoring all the fires via helicopter.
