POLSON — We are now celebrating our 50th year serving the Polson area senior citizens. Come join us. If you have stories from the early years of our center we would love to hear from you.                                       

The Polson Senior Center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. Lunch is available from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays. Call 406-883-4735, email:, or visit or mail us at 504 Third Ave. E.


“Pitch,” anyone?: Sign up/information at Polson Sr. Center.

Bowling: Fun league, pay by the day. Non-sanctioned, no-tap, Tuesdays 1 p.m. – weekly 

Exercise for mobility: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 10:30 –11:30 a.m.   

Bridge: Tuesdays and Fridays, open for all, 12:30 p.m. Beginners welcome.

Bridge instructor wanted for new players. Call for details.  

Pinochle: Thursdays, 12:30 – 3 p.m. (earlier or later if you wish). Congratulations to Randy, who has been playing pinochle for fifty years. ( He started playing when he was 12.) He scored a double run last week. Players score one or two in their lifetimes. A rare feat.  

Bingo: Fridays at 7 p.m. - Lots of fun, cash prizes, snacks. Mark your calendars for “Poker” Bingo on the fourth Thursday of each month. Easy to play. No poker skill involved.  

Veterans’ Rep: The first Friday (Oct. 7) and third Tuesday (Sept. 20) of each month from 10 a.m. -noon    

Pool: Open table from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Safe Driver Class: Sept. 22, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Pre-register. Fee required for class. Discount for members.

The Nutrition Director thanks the Polson Food Bank and the public for their donations of fresh produce and meat for the Senior Center Nutrition Program.

MENU (subject to change): Sit-down, take-out, delivery - $5, 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. 

—  Wednesday, Sept. 21: hamburger stroganoff, noodle, carrots, green salad, fruit cobbler

—  Thursday, Sept. 22: corndog, tater tot, beet, pear-cheese salad, cookies 

—  Friday, Sept. 23: Birthday dinner for lunch-roast pork, with the fixings, apple salad, chocolate cake 

—  Monday, Sept. 26: Navy bean-ham soup, apple zucchini muffins, carrot raisin salad,  tapioca pudding

—  Tuesday. Sept. 27: barbecue sandwich baked beans, potato chips, green salad, cookies

—  Wednesday, Sept. 28: chicken enchiladas, Spanish rice, salsa, Mexi-corn salad, key lime bars

—  Thursday, Sept. 29: beef stew in a bread bowl, 3-bean salad, Watergate salad

—  Friday, Sept. 30: bison cheeseburgers, lettuce, tomato, onion, French fries, grape salad, cookies
