POLSON — The Polson boys’ soccer team couldn’t quite hang with Libby last weekend as the Loggers beat the Pirates, 4-0, on Saturday in a conference match.
“This was a tough game; we had higher expectations for this game,” head coach Jess Kittle said. “We gave ourselves good opportunities but we couldn’t find the back of the net. We had good possession in the midfield, but when we got the ball into position to score, we couldn’t finish. The Libby goalkeeper had a good game, stopping some good shots, but I don’t feel like we tested him enough during the game.”
Polson nearly matched Libby’s nine shots on goal with seven. And keeper Spencer Kittle had five saves to Libby keeper Austin Nagle’s seven.
The Pirates’ record is now 1-5-0 (0-4-0 in conference) before the team hosted Bigfork Tuesday.
