POLSON — The Polson Pirates crushed the Whitefish Bulldogs Friday by a score of 42-10.

Polson running back Drew Kvam rushed for 71 yards on five carries for an average of 14.2 yards per carry and two touchdowns. As a team, the Pirates ate up 325 yards on the ground and rushed for five touchdowns behind their offensive line.

“The offensive line played a great game,” coach Scott Wilson said.

The Polson defense sacked Whitefish’s quarterback a total of nine times.

Senior defensive back Will Davey had two interceptions and seven tackles on the day, while senior linebacker Beau Mills racked up nine tackles and a sack. Their efforts contributed to Polson being able to hold Whitefish to only 10 points.

The Pirates’ next matchup will be a conference road game against 3- 1 Frenchtown on Oct. 5.
