CHARLO — The Lady Vikings beat neighboring Ronan and Arlee last week.
“Both were great matches, coach Sheryl Kain said. “(The) teams played well and fought hard.”
At home on Oct. 2, Charlo shut down the Ronan Maidens, 26-28, 25-16, 26-24, 26-24.
Charlo had a team total of 36 kills against Ronan, with Rachel Hoyt and Sienne Brown contributing nine each. Teammate Derika Stipe added a block, 12 assists, 17 digs and two aces. Haley Berkram tallied nine assists and three aces. Laura Reich tacked on 12 of the team’s 70 digs, and Alyssa Doty had two aces.
For Ronan, Ashleigh Lynch had seven of the Maidens’ 22 kills, while Larissa Witters led in blocks with 10. Courtney Taylor had five of the team’s 14 digs, and Alaina Madsen led in aces with three.
In a District 14-C matchup against Arlee, Charlo came out on top, 25-23, 25-22, 25-21.
Of the Lady Vikings’ 30 kills, Hoyt had 10 and Reich seven. Reich also led in digs with seven. Berkram chalked up 11 of Charlo’s 25 assists, followed closely by Stipe with 10. Berkram and Hoyt had three aces apiece, and Hoyt led in blocks with two.
