ARLEE — The Arlee Warriors kicked off football season with a convincing win at home Friday night, defeating the Seeley-Swan Blackhawks 54-36 in a Western C matchup.
Arlee’s Christian Haynes rushed 17 times for 130 yards and returned the opening kickoff for a 70-yard touchdown. He totaled four touchdowns for the Warriors.
Quarterback Riley Rogers completed three of five passes for 48 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran the ball in for a score.
Justin Adams shone for the Warrior defense with seven solo tackles, with four forcing yardage losses.
“I am very proud of the underclassmen for stepping up during the game and the veteran players for helping bring the younger players along during the two-a-day practices this summer,” head coach Mike Rogers said.
The Warriors head to Philipsburg Friday to take on the Granite Prospectors at 7 p.m.
