ARLEE — The Arlee Scarlets split their home games last week, falling to Noxon Oct. 18 before beating Hot Springs on Saturday.

Against the Lady Red Devils, Arlee lost 13-25, 14-25, 20-25.

“We were just not in the groove that night,” head coach Brian BigSam said.

Morgan Malatare served up the team’s only two aces and also led in blocks with two. Bailey Rice and Whitney Malatare led the Scarlets in digs with six apiece. Alexis Shick and Violet Pablo each had six of the team’s 17 kills, and Rice turned in five assists to lead her team.

The Scarlets won the Hot Springs match in four games, 26-24, 15-25, 25-23, 25-10.

“Violet Pablo and Mahalia Hendren both had an outstanding night,” BigSam noted.

Pablo racked up 10 of the team’s 16 aces, while Hendren had 10 kills, two blocks and two assists. Leading the Scarlets in digs were Pablo and Whitney Malatare with five each, and Rice tallied 13 of the team’s 25 assists.

The Scarlets will host the District 10-C tournament starting Friday.

“It’s a new match come this weekend,” BigSam said.
