The Mission Mountain Quilt Show on August 2-4 was a big success. Thank you to the community and fellow quilters for making this a great event for our community. This was the guild’s annual quilt show and runs in conjunction with the Lake County Fair. There were 113 quilts on display made by members and fellow quilters in the community. There were also approximately 30 additional quilts displayed by the two featured quilters, Pat Anderson and Jesse Merwin. About 375 people visited the quilt show and got to vote on their favorite quilts in many different categories, as well as shop the vendors who took time from their busy schedules to help make the quilt show a success. Everyone’s help is appreciated. During the show, there were two raffles that you could purchase tickets on, one for a beautiful “Civil War” quilt and one for a basket of more than 100 fat quarters. The money raised from these raffles helps buy supplies to make quilts to give to some of the local organizations with people in need as well as to people who have lost their homes to fires.

Many baby quilts have been donated to both St. Luke’s and St. Joseph’s hospital. Also quilts have been donated to the oncology department in Polson, Brothers and Sisters, Lake County Youth Home, Safe Harbor, St. Luke’s Extended Care facility, Mountain View Care Center, St. Joseph Assisted Living in Polson,

Lilly of the Valley Home, The Pines of St. Ignatius, The Pines of Polson, and many other organizations for fundraisers and other needs. We appreciate the Ronan School District for allowing the guild to have the show in the elementary gym; thanks to all those who help without being asked. We apologize to anyone that we didn’t mention who helped.

Raffle winners were Cryse Heiner from Ronan, who won the quilt, and Nancy Yonker from Seattle, who won the fat quarter basket. Congratulations to both of these ladies.

Thanks again to everyone who helped in any way or attended the quilt show for the great success and pleasure it brings to the community.
