POLSON — Lake County Commissioners appointed Ann-Marie McNeel, Charlo, to fill the unfinished term of Chuck Wall, who resigned as Lake County Justice of the Peace on Aug. 8.

In a statement, Wall said he was resigning in order to save his family and the citizens and taxpayers of Lake County the expense of continued legal proceedings.

Former state Supreme Court Justice Diane Barz has been the acting Lake County Justice of the Peace, and McNeel will take over on Sept. 4.

Of the four candidates they chose from, Commissioner Paddy Trusler said, ”three had a legal background or were licensed attorneys.”

Twelve candidates have filedfor the office of Justice of the Peace in Lake County.

The candidates are: Alan Booth, Ron Boyce, Dennis DeVries, Joey Jayne, Edwin Jonas, Steven Kendley, Daryl Kerr, Kathleen O’Rourke Mullins, James Raymond, Sharon Richardson, Rick Schoening and David Weinandy.
