Editor,

I would like to shout out a big “thank-you” to the last Justice of the Peace, Chuck Wall.

My son was bullied in the public schools for five years. It started with one bully in kindergarten. By the time my son got into middle school, there were seven. These same kids pretty much ran together unsupervised. In the public schools, the rule of thumb is “talk, walk or squawk.” I talked to teachers, school officials, the parents and police officials. I was not taken seriously, but made to feel like a nuisance. My son endured bruises, lumps, got ganged up on physically and mentally. So I walked and was forced to take my son out of public school.

For one year, the same bully kids came to my place of business unsupervised. At my wit’s end, I went to the courthouse and talked to Judge Chuck Wall. He listened to me and took me seriously when no one else would. With Chuck Wall’s professional help, I was allowed to get two restraining orders on the main bullies.

I had the parents brought in. For the first time in the history of Polson, there were two restraining orders issued on two minors.

Thank you, Chuck Wall, for helping my son and me. Thank you for listening to me and taking the bullying situation seriously. It has been a year, and my son and I live peaceful lives due to you. I was sorry to see you leave.
