RONAN — Give us your chairs, stools and benches all yearning to be re-imagined. They may be old and well used, but ready for a new life as part of the Friends’ second chair auction. We need items to paint, decoupage, or in some creative way re-purpose. We are asking for wooden or metal chairs, stools, and benches that can be re-done and become part of the auction to raise money for the Ronan City Library. No large upholstered pieces, please.
Plus, we need members of this talented community to volunteer to actually paint, decoupage or in some creative way re-imagine and re-purpose the chairs, etc that are donated to the Friends. You can make an “art piece” or repaint a chair for the front porch, turn an old metal chair into a flowerpot chair for the garden, or create a storybook rocker for a child’s room. We need items that will fit into kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms, gardens, porches, patios, wherever you can imagine for adults and children. What a great project for the winter.
The Ronan City Library is the place to drop off an item you have to donate or to pick up an item to decorate. If you already have an item at home that you want to decorate and donate, please just call 676-3682 and let us know. All items need to be completed and returned to the library by Tuesday, March 5. We will have more information about the spring chair auction in an upcoming article.
