DIXON — We’re having an interesting fall/winter mix lately. This is my kind of snow; on the ground but not the roads. I’m glad for forced time indoors, to accomplish what I put off during outdoor weather. There are a lot of pre-Christmas activities going on in our area; take advantage of the local fun! Coming up at the center will be an opportunity to have a free hearing aid cleaning and consultation, and an appointment to see what’s going on with your hearing. Thursday, Nov. 15, beginning at 10:30 a.m., you can see a representative to help figure out why so many people seem to be “mumbling” these days. Come and stay for lunch at noon. We will be having turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
Menu for November will be:
Thursday, Nov. 15: turkey dinner
Monday, Nov. 19: Reuben sandwiches
No dinner at the center on Thanksgiving Day
Monday, Nov. 26: Hawaiian chicken
Thursday, Nov. 29: scalloped potatoes
Our cook Diane makes homemade rolls or bread to go with yummy main dishes and always includes fruits or vegetables and desserts. Come to eat and take an extra meal home. Dinner is at 5 p.m. from now on, on Mondays and lunch is at noon each Thursday.
We have set the date for our Christmas party for Thursday, Dec. 13. Details will come later.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Let’s count our blessings.
