BIGFORK — “Belief” is a one-woman play featuring Salish actress Julie Cajune. The multi-dimensional performance is a unique mixture of interconnected Salish women’s stories, poetry and live music. Each story intimately invites the audience to believe in one’s true self, to believe in magic and to believe in love. If you have ever doubted love’s ability to find you, or if you have ever stopped believing in magic, then this play is a must-see. The performance will remind you of all that is good inside you. Generations of Salish women have endured loss and tragedy, yet here are women strong enough to find their way back to knowing their beauty through their connection to the land, and re-establishing a connection to their true selves.

Cajune and award-winning Salish writer Jennifer Finley-Greene collaborated on the script for “Belief.” Linda Grinde adapted the stories for stage and is director of the performance. The journey through “Belief” is guided by original music from internationally acclaimed violinist Swil Kanim, world flutist Gary Stroutsos and Grammy-nominated composer and pianist David Lanz. A CD of the original soundtrack of the production will be made available for purchase.

“Belief” will premiere Friday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts in Bigfork. Tickets are available online via the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts: 406-837-4885 or email info@bigforktheater.org. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, and 10 percent of the proceeds of ticket sales will go to Domestic Violence Education and Services.
