Ronan seniors celebrate Thanksgiving
RONAN —Thank you to all who worked at our spaghetti fundraiser last Saturday. Those who came to eat and those who donated to the center are also appreciated. We did not have as good a turnout as we had hoped for, but we had a great time.
The center will be closed on Thursday and Friday of this week, and we hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Don’t forget about the Thanksgiving dinner at the community ccenter. That is a great bunch of volunteers and they always put on a wonderful meal.
We served a total of 112 people for our Thanksgiving dinner last week. This number includes both the meals served at the center and our home-delivered meals.
New West Insurance will be here at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26. The time to change your Medicare Supplemental Insurance is about up, so come in and talk to them about any changes you want to make. You don’t need an appointment for this.
Our birthday dinner will be at noon on Friday, Nov. 30.
Starting in December, the card players will meet here at 1:30 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of the month.
The quilt is finished and we are selling raffle tickets for it. Come on into the center to see this beautiful quilt and to buy some chances on it. They are $1 each, or $5 for six tickets. This is another fundraiser for the center to help to cover the cost of keeping the center up and running.
Thanks to Helen Salomon for donating the quilt top, and to Carol Lipscomb of Creekside Quilting in St. Ignatius, for quilting it for us. You ladies both did outstanding jobs.
Menu through November:
• Wednesday, Nov. 21: barbecued chicken on a bun
• Friday, Nov. 23: we are closed
• Monday, Nov. 26: mac ‘n’ cheese
• Wednesday, Nov. 28: baked beans and polish sausage
• Friday, 30: roast beef
Have a great week, and come in and join us for lunch, to play pool and bingo, or just visit.
