RONAN — I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving and are almost done with your Christmas shopping (I wish I were).
Monday, Dec. 3, is the board meeting at 10 a.m.
The birthday dinner is this Friday, Nov. 30. Come join us for a great roast beef dinner, at noon. The cost is only $4 per person. (Also, it’s not turkey, and you don’t have to cook.)
The center’s evening meal will be at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, and pork roast will be served for only $5 per person.
The center is raffling a beautiful quilt and two Christmas gift baskets to raise funds. The tickets are $1 apiece, or $5 for six tickets. Come to the center to have lunch and to view the quilt and gift baskets and to buy your tickets.
The Christmas dinner will be held at noon on Wednesday, Dec.19, and ham will be served.
The center recycles aluminum cans and if you have any to donate, please drop them off behind the center. This is just one fundraiser the center and the COA have to supplement their budgets.
Menu for the week:
• Wednesday, Nov. 28: Polish sausage and baked beans
• Friday, Nov. 30: roast beef
• Monday, Dec. 3: potato bar
• Wednesday, Dec. 5: Swiss steak
• Friday, Dec. 7: taco soup
We have bingo after lunch Fridays, and there is usually someone around to play pool. We also have an assortment of puzzles and books to loan out. So, come in and join us for food, fellowship and fun.
A wish goes out to my husband Moe for a “happy birthday” on Dec. 4.
Have a great week, and remember you might as well enjoy the weather, because it sure isn’t going to change to suit us.
