Polson football players honored

After a stellar football season, several of the Polson Pirates received post-season recognition. Three Pirates were named to the 2012 Class A all-state offensive team: guard Riley Sampson, tackle Dan LaFranier and fullback Colton Lenz. Defensive end Eric Williamson, inside linebacker Beau Mills and safety Will Davey were honored on all-state defense.

Several players received all-conference honors, as well. Named to the Northwest A first team all-conference offense were Marlin Burke, Sampson (offensive most valuable player), LaFranier, Williamson, Lenz, Davey (return specialist and receiver) and Brady Hislop, Tailback Drew Kvam was named to the second team offense, and Wyatt Jenson and quarterback Andrew Weltz received honorable mentions.

All-conference defense was: Sampson, Williamson, Mills (linebacker and defensive most valuable player), Taylor Pitts, Dylan Kelley and Davey (strong safety and defensive most valuable player) on first team; Hislop and Cedrick Smith on second team; and Sam Kinzle with an honorable mention.
