POLSON — A vacation home on Finley Point was completely destroyed on Jan. 3. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

“Finley Point Fire Department hopped on the fire and protected the other structure,” said Karen Sargeant, public information officer for the Polson Volunteer Fire Department.

The other structure was approximately 10 feet from the burning building, and the Finley Point firefighters saved it.

The Polson Volunteer Fire Department was paged for mutual aid and arrived on the scene at about 9 a.m.

Mission Valley Power was called in because the fire burned through a power line; and the line, lying on the ground, was live. The power company responded promptly, and firefighters continued on to the fire.
