William “Ray” Jensen
ST. IGNATIUS — William “Ray” Jensen, 90, passed through the veil into the arms of his sweetheart, Faye, Jan. 29, 2013, in West Jordan, Utah. Ray was born to David William and Bessie Pierce Jensen July 13, 1922, in Goshen, Idaho. His family moved to St. Ignatius, where he grew up and raised his own family.
Ray was a veteran of WWII, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He married Faye Riggin Feb. 16, 1950, in Spokane, Wash., and was sealed to her Sept. 15, 1950, in the Idaho Falls Temple. A dairy farmer, Ray was elected to the state legislature and served as a bishop and later as a missionary in England for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was predeceased by his wife Faye, in 1985; his siblings Loa Jaten, Carl, Alice Brooks, Ruth, Bob, and Louise Merrill.
He is survived by his sister Phyllis Heward Eichmeyer and his children, (who honor and revere him as a stalwart patriarch), David (Linda), Brad (Pat) Garr (Nancy), Valorie (Steve) Peterson, Carol (Randy) Jones, John (Kim), Jan (Mark) Peterson; 45 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services have been held.
