POLSON — Lake County students preparing for a career in art are again invited to apply to the Sandpiper Gallery for scholarship support.
Each year, the Sandpiper Gallery, an all-volunteer and nonprofit organization that promotes art appreciation and endeavor, awards up to $1,000 to Lake County residents. Those eligible for this scholarship are high school seniors who will enroll in an art program or a student who is now enrolled in an accredited art studies program at a university, college or specialized art school. Applicants need not be enrolled in a program in Montana.
Applicants are judged on ability, a serious intent to pursue a career in art and a need for scholarship support.
Application forms and information are available at the Sandpiper Gallery, 306 Main St. or write to P.O. Box 1163, Polson, MT, 59860. Applications must be postmarked or received no later than April 15. Finalists chosen from the written applications will be interviewed and asked to show samples of their work at a later date.
The scholarship is funded from proceeds of the annual outdoor festival that is one of the scheduled summer activities in Polson.
