POLSON — The Polson Pirates won two games at home last weekend, beating the Corvallis Blue Devils 51-48 on Friday and sending the Libby Loggers home defeated 54-44 on Saturday.
Bolstered by a 13-0 second-quarter run, Polson fought hard to win a close contest over Corvallis. Hayden Congdon led the Pirate charge, racking up 14 points to teammate Riley Sampson’s 13. Will Davey contributed 10 points, eight assists, six rebounds and two steals.
On Saturday, the Pirates came back after a tough first quarter and outscored the Loggers in the remaining three frames, led by Sampson with 19 points and Cedric Smith with 16. Smith and Davey turned in six rebounds and two assists apiece. Davey also added seven points for the Pirates.
Polson travels to Columbia Falls Thursday and Whitefish Friday.
