Beverly “Kay” Neiss
POLSON – Beverly “Kay” Neiss, 69, of Polson, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at St. Joseph Medical Center.
Kay was born on June 9, 1941 in St. Ignatius, a daughter of Ernest Clairmont and Olive “Kelly” Dupuis Clairmont. She graduated from Polson High School in 1959. Kay married Pilar Garcia in 1959 and the couple later divorced. In 1968, Kay married Richard Neiss and later divorced in 1992.
She was an enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and had retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a lands administration office manager.
Besides her parents, Kay is preceded in death by two of her children, Timothy Garcia and Sherri Neiss. Survivors include her children, Lyle G. Neiss of Polson, Kathy K. (Duane) Cunningham of Helena, John K. (Kandi) Neiss of Ronan, and Lance Neiss; 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and a sister, Rhonda Swaney.
