ST. IGNATIUS — The St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center has been fortunate to obtain new flooring and new tables in recent years. Now the kitchen needs a remodel and some new appliances. As a community service, the center provides meals both in-house and on wheels for shut-ins, provides other services and takes part in many community activities. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will match funds donating $1 for every $2 raised, up to $620 raised during the spring fling project.

There will be a bake sale at the center on Friday, March 29, just in time for Easter celebrations. There will also be a raffle for a basket of spring items. Tickets will be sold for $1 each. The usual lunch will also be served that day. The following week will include events with a Caribbean pirates theme. Starting on Tuesday, April 2, there will be a “pirates plunder silent auction” beginning at the noon meal and ending on Friday, April 5, after lunch. Silent auction items will be on display in the center and bids will be taken all week. There will be a “like new items treasure trove sale” beginning Tuesday, April 2, through Friday, April 5. The Wednesday evening meal will feature a Caribbean live mystery auction. At the end of the auction, you may keep or trade your booty. The silent auction will continue. On Friday, April 5, there will be a “galley bake sale” along with the noon meal and a “treasure trove sale.” On Saturday, April 6, there will be a “goodies to go sale” in Rod’s Harvest Foods from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. So collect your booty and help the St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center raise “cache” (pun intended) to help update the kitchen and make needed repairs.

Please bring your friends and neighbors to enjoy the events. Your donations will help bring in matching dollars from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
