POLSON — In a quick meeting on March 11, the Polson School Board of Trustees canvassed the Polson High School bond vote. Although only 39 percent of the registered voters cast ballots, the bond passed with 2,002 people voting for the bond and 1,059 voting no.

The board also approved out-of-state travel for Chair Malissa Vaska and two members of the Indian Education Committee, six PHS students and a PHS teacher to attend the National Johnson O’Malley Association Conference in Minneapolis from April 13 to 17.

Vaska said she was especially interested in workshops on impact aid, Title 9 and special education.

In other business, the trustees approved the preliminary budget and the consent agenda, accepted one out-of-district student, continued through the policy review and called for trustee elections.

Five seats are up for election, two three-year terms, two one-year terms and one two-year term. Interested parties may contact School Clerk Pam Owen at 883-6355.

The next school board meeting will be held on April 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the district conference room.
