POLSON — Western Montana Mental Health has drawn up plans for a new campus in Polson, including a crisis stabilization home, a peer support recovery facility as well as office space.

The campus tentatively would be located on the west end of land owned by Providence St. Joseph Medical Center across from the Polson Middle School.

According to Patty Kent at the Missoula office of WMMH, the plans might be on hold. WMMH applied for a $1.5 million grant to build the campus from a Montana Mental Health Settlement Trust for $9.5 million. The money came from litigation with drug giant Eli Lily.

The trust received 270 applications for the money, and winning applications will be notified in February.

However, Kent was not sure the state would give one place so much of the funds.

“There is no plan B if that money is not forthcoming,” Kent said.
