Ronan-Mission athletes heat up track

MISSOULA — A little warm weather went a long way for the Ronan-St. Ignatius track and field team at the Big Sky Quad meet Friday in Missoula.
Connor Benn and Shelby Grant both cleared 11 feet in the pole vault, which was Connor’s lifetime best; and Shelby tied his best.
Feli Ludwig, Auxie Cates and Hannah McGuyer tied or bettered their season best. Cates, Kaylie Durglo and Sydney Clairmont posted season best in the triple jump, as well. On the track, Durglo posted a season best in the 800, along with Kiana Howell in the 400-meter and Alex Dennis in the 200.
The distance trio of Jade Gray, Jacey Probst and Durglo also posted season best in the 1,600 meters. Lucas Gerhardt had a personal best in the shot put.
Ronan-St. Ignatius will host the Lake County Invitational Tuesday in Ronan before traveling to the Seeley Swan Invitational at Missoula Big Sky on Saturday.
