Duane Thomas Johnson
POLSON — Duane Thomas Johnson, 79, of Polson, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Kalispell Regional Hospital, of natural causes. He was surrounded by the love of his life, his wife Alice, his children, family and friends.
Duane was born March 12, 1934, in Regent, N.D. to Wayne and Della Johnson. He has lived in Polson most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne. Duane was a skilled carpenter and craftsman by trade. He was the type to build anything and it would never fall apart. Duane loved all sorts of activities including bowling, fishing, hunting, bingo, and playing pinochle with his family and friends.
Duane is survived by the love of his life for 30 years, Alice; sons Kurt (Traci), and David (Kim); daughters Kem (Brad), and Kimberly (Gerald); 10 grandchildren: Brandon, Chase, Hope, Sheldon, Sierra, Brock, Bailee, Nichole, Natasha, and Braelyn; three great-grandchildren: Lyla, Aiden, Alia; sister Fern; and brothers Gary and Gene. His parents, four sisters, and two brothers precede him in death.
A viewing for Duane will be held Thursday, May 2, from 1-4 p.m. at Grogan Funeral Home in Polson. A service will be held at Grogan Funeral Home, Friday, May 3, at 11 a.m. Burial will take place after the service at Lake View Cemetery. A reception will take place after the burial at the Polson Senior Center. Duane will be greatly missed by his family and all of his friends.
