Judge C.B. McNeil dealt with the following case Oct. 13:
Jacob Michael Mitchell, 30, Polson, pleaded not guilty to the following charges: criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony; criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; and driving while license is suspended or revoked, a misdemeanor.
Charges stem from a June 25 incident where Mitchell was pulled over on his motorcycle along Highway 93 north of Pablo West Road for not using his turn signal. After dispatch notified the officer that Mitchell’s license was suspended, Mitchell was arrested. The officer found a metal pipe in Mitchell’s pocket. Mitchell admitted it was for smoking marijuana, and also told the officer he had marijuana in a small plastic bag in his backpack, which he gave to the officer.
Mitchell’s criminal history showed that he had been convicted in 1999 of criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
Mitchell remains at liberty. An omnibus hearing is set for Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 9 a.m. A trial is set for Monday, March 7, 2011.
