RONAN — Have you ever had one of those weeks when everything was going on and everything needed to get done? This has been one of those weeks here at the center. The main activity was getting ready for the yard sale held last weekend. Thanks to all who donated to it, to all who helped with it, and to all who came and bought the stuff.

Cards were played here on Monday, May 20, with 24 people present. Marlys Hoeldt and Judy Penfield served lunch, Lyle Hilfigure had the high score, Grace Ingraham had the low score, Bob Cook had the most pinochles and Marion Sands won the door prize.

The AARP 55 Alive driving course was held here last week and we have plans to hold another one next fall. If you know of any schoolteachers who would like to attend one of the classes this summer, please let us know (406) 676-2371 and we will try and schedule one for them.

Joanne Shaw has taken over as new head of the Lake County Council on Aging and Jeanne Swope has taken over as head of the housekeeping dept. If you have any questions, please give either one of them a call at (406) 676-2367. Jan Schmitz is still in charge of the transportation and you can call her at (406) 676-2368 to arrange for a ride (or even to volunteer as a driver). Martha Allen is still there as their ever competent volunteer.

I have the new menus all done and already people are pointing out my mistakes. I forgot to change the month to June and I have the same meal down one June 5 and 12. We will have Salisbury steak on June 5, and some thing else on June 12.

Our monthly Thursday night meal will be on June 13 this month and we will serve a great chicken dinner. We start serving at 5 p.m.; the cost is only $5 per person and all are invited to attend.

Menu for the first week of June is:

•  Wednesday, June 5: Salisbury steak

•  Friday, June 7: salad bar

•  Monday, June 10:  barbecue ribs

Come on in and join us for a great meal, to visit old friends and to make some new ones.

Have a great week.
