Terrance (Terry) L. Sieges

CHARLO — Terrance (Terry) L. Sieges, 60, of Charlo, passed away on July 1, 2013 in his home surrounded by his family.

Terry entered this world with his twin brother Tim on a hot summer day in Phoenix, Ariz. on June 25, 1953. He grew up in Phoenix until the age of 8 when his family moved to the Willamette Valley in Oregon. He attended school in Dexter, Ore., graduating from Pleasant Hill High School in 1971. Terry loved to play baseball and played second base in college for the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers in Lagrande, Ore.

He returned to the Willamette Valley and was employed by the Oregon Dept. of Forestry. He moved to Central Oregon in the early 1970’s. He was a partner with his father and friend Cecil Benson raising beef cattle with over 1,000 head in a feed lot at one time. He met his wife Betty in 1979 and they married in 1980. They moved to Montana with their two young sons, Mason and Adam in 1985. Their family expanded with the addition of another son, Andy in 1988.

Terry loved the outdoors, fishing and packing with horses into the Mission Mountains. He loved sports and enjoyed watching his sons play in all sports activities and road trips for football games. He enjoyed being creative with wood working projects, making items for his home and yard. Terry loved to cook and trained as a chef at the Rabbit Tree Restaurant in Ronan. Many friends were delighted with gourmet meals he created in his home. He was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to a variety of music. He was a favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. Terry was most recently employed by CHS as a manager at the asphalt terminal in Polson.

His parents, his mother-in-law and several aunts and uncles precede him in death. Terry’s spouse Betty of Charlo; three sons: Mason of Newark, Del., Adam of Dillon, Mont., and Andy of Sheridan, Mont.; his twin brother Tim (Denise) of Matthews, N.C.; and nine nieces and nephews; survive him.

Terry loved life, his family and his loyal pets. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 10, at 11:30 a.m. at the Terrace Lake Community Church in Ronan, (formerly the Ronan Alliance Church), on Terrace Lake Road. Memorials in his name may be made to Lake County Hospice.
