Michael Daniel “Hunter” Alire

ST. IGNATIUS – On July 10, 2013, our beloved Michael Daniel “Hunter” Alire went to be with our loving Lord, Jesus Christ. Daniel was born in Monte Vista, Colo. to Caroline and Roy Alire on January 9, 1948. Daniel moved to Oregon where he worked in the mills. It was in Oregon he met his soul mate and married Jori Hunter in 2007. In 2010 they moved to St. Ignatius.

He loved the outdoors and was always taking his kids fishing, camping, and hunting, anything that would let him be outside. He also enjoyed taking road trips. One of his favorite spots was by the Bison Range where he would sit and watch the elk and buffalo. Dan was blessed with a green thumb and loved to cook for others. Daniel was a believer in the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Daniel was preceded in death by his mom Caroline; dad Ray; brother Claude and grandson Josiah.

He is survived by his wife Jori Hunter Alire; his sisters Norma Ball and Vita Vijil; his brothers Tito, Markie, Robert Joseph (Alire); his children Caleb, Mike, Travis (Allie), Danny (Cindy), Rodney (Mervella), Josh (Crystal), Carlos, “Buddy”, Lisa, Becka, Kayla, Renee, Angelique, Tana, Cecily, Andrea and Chloe; his dad Kenny (Susie) Hunter; and mom Anita (Shorty) Matt; brothers in-laws Lakota and Michael; sister in-law Brittney (Elli) and many aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
