RONAN — Are you hot enough yet? Hopefully, by the time the papers come out it will have cooled down a bit. Especially since it’s time for the Lake County Fair and the Ronan Pioneer Days. Thanks to all who joined us this week for our “Bring a Friend to Lunch” day. We had new people join us for lunch on Wednesday. We also had a good turnout for our birthday dinner, with a total of 71 joining us for a great meal and wonderful music.

Thanks to the Bigfork Senior Citizens for donating a TV to us. Hopefully, in the near future, we can get it all set up to show some movies in the afternoons.

Congratulations to Ray and Darlene Salomon on their 50th anniversary, and we hope they have many more.

If you are in need of something to keep you busy, why not volunteer to drive the “Med Cars” for the COA? Give Jan a call at (406) 676-2368 and she can give you all the necessary information. This is a much needed and much appreciated service the COA offers to Lake County seniors. Many of our seniors are no longer able to drive and this gives them a way to get to appointments and shopping.

We have recently had the outside of the building painted and are looking into grants so we can replace some of the flooring and add a new heating/air conditioning unit. We are getting new safety railings installed on all of our doorways and we would like to thank John Delaraunti for doing that for us. Like us, the building is getting older, and requires a few “surgeries” to keep it in shape.

Our monthly board meeting is on Monday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m.

Our monthly evening meal is on Thursday, Aug. 8. We will start serving at 5 p.m. and will serve a great chicken dinner.

Our upcoming menu is:

•  Wednesday, July 31: baked fish

•  Friday, Aug. 2: beef stroganoff

•  Monday, Aug. 5: Salisbury steak

•  Wednesday, Aug. 7: hamburgers

•  Thursday, Aug. 8: chicken dinner at 5 p.m.

•  Friday, Aug.9: meatballs in gravy

Have a great week and enjoy the fair.
